Tattoos are a great form of personal expression, but they may not always gel with an employer or environment. Laser removal is extremely painful and expensive, and covering up a black tattoo is difficult. The easiest way to temporarily hide a tattoo is with corrective cosmetic make-up and some experimentation.

Instructions

    Covering Your Tattoo

  1. 1

Purchase corrective make-up. Tattoo concealer or heavily pigmented corrective make-up will work well. Consider purchasing several different tones in order to blend more accurately with your skin colour.

  2. 2

Blend the corrective make-up until it resembles your skin tone. It may take several tries before you get it right.

  3. 3

Apply the make-up to the tattoo area. For black letters, it will require layered application. Let the first layer dry then continue to reapply until the tattoo is concealed.

  4. 4

Blend the edges of the concealer into your skin.

  5. 5

Finish concealing your tattoo with a setting powder. Use a large make-up brush to apply powder to the area. Let it set for several minutes.

Tips and warnings

  • Most concealers are not waterproof, so don't expect it to stay on if you are going for a swim or taking a shower.
