How to Set Up Your Tomy Thomas Train

Written by joseph mars | 13/05/2017

Tales of Thomas the Tank Engine and his friends have entertained children and their parents around the world since the 1940s, when Wilbert Awdry wrote the "Railway Series" books to entertain his son. Today, "Thomas and Friends" can be seen on television and in the movies, or acted out with miniature, plastic or wooden playsets. Know how to set up your Tomy "Push 'N' Sounds Thomas" train so your child can get the most enjoyment out of it.

Take Thomas out of his box and set him gently on his side on the flat surface to access his battery compartment.

Undo screws on the bottom of Thomas with the cross-head screwdriver to get into his battery area. Place the battery cover and screws to the side.

Insert the three 1.5-V LR44 batteries into Thomas, making sure the "+" signs on the batteries line up with the "+" signs inside the battery compartment.

Screw the battery cover back into Thomas. Lift gently and stand him up on the surface.

Set Thomas on the carpet or other soft surface. Turn him on by moving the switch on his back to the right. Use the first circular setting to play authentic engine sounds. Use the second music note setting to play the "Thomas and Friends" theme song. Move the switch to "off" when finished, to save battery life.
