Fill a bucket with warm water. Add a washing powder containing enzymes to the water. Refer to the label for specific instructions on the ratio of detergent to water.

Put the clothing in the water. Let it soak for a few hours.

Take the clothing out and spray a laundry pretreatment spray on the spot. Launder the clothing as usual.

WARNING

Never mix bleach and ammonia or products containing these ingredients. The results can be toxic. Work in a well-ventilated area and wear rubber gloves when using ammonia. Wear rubber gloves when cleaning bird droppings to prevent the spread of disease and bacteria. Test the hydrogen peroxide on a small area of the fabric first to check for colour changes. Hydrogen peroxide has bleaching properties that may discolour some fabrics. Run your washer through a cycle with hot water and bleach to disinfect the machine after washing clothes that had bird droppings on them.
