QuickTime is an audio and video player for Mac and PC that supports online media and files from your personal collection. It supports third-party plug-ins that enable you to view various video formats, including Windows Media and DIVX. QuickTime maintains recently viewed videos in a list so that you can access the content again quickly. However, you may erase this list and prevent QuickTime from saving videos in the future.

Skill level:

  1. 1

Open QuickTime, and then click "File" followed by "Open Recent." Click "Clear Menu" to erase the recent videos list.

  2. 2

Click the "Edit" menu and select "Preferences." Click "Player Preferences."

  3. 3

Select "None" from the "Number of Recent Items" drop-down list to prevent recent videos from appearing in the list. Click "OK" to save and exit.
