The Miele G1220 dishwasher is sold in both the United States and Europe and has features such as a safety lock, upper and lower spray arms, filter, dual detergent dispenser, and adjustable racks. The dishwasher also has a computer control panel that displays error codes if a problem arises. One such code is "F85," which indicates problems with the slide shutter signal, which is part of the circulation pump and moves the water to the spray arms. The shutter controls the path of the water with a sensor, which results in the error code when a problem occurs.

Instructions

  1. 1

Press the "On/Off" button to turn the Miele dishwasher off. Wait about 10 seconds.

  2. 2

Press the "On/Off" button to restore power to the dishwasher. Make a new wash selection and press "Start" to initiate the program.

  3. 3

Disconnect power to the dishwasher if the problem continues. Pull out the bottom rack and lift out the bottom spray arm.

  4. 4

Locate the pump assembly on the bottom of the tub, which is round and underneath the spray arm mechanism. Look for items that may be blocking the pump, preventing the slide shutter on the pump from closing. Use a damp cloth to clean the pump and the slide shutter mechanism.

  5. 5

Replace the spray arm and slide the bottom rack into position. Restore power.

  6. 6

Contact Miele if the error code persists.
