The Connect Direct is a file transfer software designed to transfer files between mainframe and mid-range computers formerly called NDM (Network Data Mover). It supports Internet protocol to make file transfers on the current computer networks. A Generation Data Group syntax describes a group of related files that can be read individually or as a group. The files names of the GDG generation must be assigned to use Connect Direct mainframe software for the transfer of files with GDG syntax.
