How do I Replace the Dryer Belt on a Hotpoint TDC62?

Updated February 21, 2017

The Hotpoint model TDC62 is a front-loading tumble dryer with a 5.9kg. load capacity. The drum inside the dryer cabinet is controlled by a belt connected to a set of pulleys. The motor powers the drum through the pulleys. A broken belt will stop the Hotpoint dryer from working correctly, as it cannot tumble. Replace the dryer belt with a new one to restore the Hotpoint TDC62 to working order.

Unplug the power cord before servicing the TDC62 dryer.

Open the dryer door. Remove the screws from the underside of the top panel.

Lift the top panel until it comes to rest on the wall behind the Hotpoint dryer.

Lift the front panel up from the base to disconnect it. Set the front panel to the side of the dryer.

Move the idler pulley toward the front of the Hotpoint TDC62 dryer. Slide the old belt off of the drum and pulleys.

Insert the new belt around the drum and pulleys. Move the idler pulley back to its previous location.

Reposition the front panel. Press down on the top of the front panel to lock it into the base. Lower the top panel onto the TDC62 cabinet. Install the screws on the underside of the top panel.
