How to Update the Transponders on a DM500

Updated April 17, 2017

DM500 is a Dreambox satellite decoder. Occasionally, you may encounter situations where your DM500 decoder is not acquiring a full list of satellite channels as it normally should. The satellite signals are governed by transponder lists. If the transponder lists aren't updated/edited properly, you may experience a problem with the DM500. You must use your Dreambox remote to manually update the transponders.

Turn on your Dreambox DM500 decoder.

Press the "Menu" button on your remote. Use the arrow keys to choose "Setup."

Choose "Service Searching" on your remote, then select "Transponder Edit."

Scroll down the list of satellites with Transponder details, such as Freq TP and SR-FEC, and select your preferred satellite. Use the arrow buttons to highlight functions that you wish to add, edit or remove. Update your satellite connection based on your preferences. Push either "add," "edit" or "remove" to update.

Press the "Menu" button on your remote, then select "Setup."

Choose "Service Searching" from the list of options, then select "Automatic Transponder Scan" to start scanning for channels.
