Troy-Bilt is a manufacturer of different power tools for your garden and workshop. Troy-Bilt offers a handful of different pressure washers, ranging in power from 2,500 to 3,000 psi. Pressure washers are effective for heavy-duty cleaning of cars, boats, sheds or other equipment. Problems with the performance of your pressure washer can set you back in time and may be costly if you are using it commercially. Troubleshooting minor problems yourself will minimise your downtime.

Instructions

  1. 1

Clean any debris out of the water inlet and switch to a high-pressure tip or clean the tip off if you have pressure problems like low pressure, erratic pressure or no pressure at all. Ensure the flow from your water source is strong and straighten out the inlet hose if it is bent.

  2. 2

Switch the spray tip of the washer to the low-pressure tip and flip the detergent shut-off valve to "On" if your detergent won't mix with the spray.

  3. 3

Move the throttle to the "Fast" position if the washer runs well with no load, but gets bogged down when load is added. Adding load refers to increasing engine output when you are using the washer, as compared to when it is just idling.

  4. 4

Fill the engine with fresh oil and gasoline and replace the spark plug if the engine fails to start or runs rough once it is started. Clean or replace the air filter, if needed.

Tips and warnings

  • Allow the engine to cool for two minutes and turn it off before removing the fuel cap to add more fuel.
