"The Sims 3" gives you several more options over its predecessors to customise your Sim and her surroundings. The Sims speak a language called "Simlish" and this cannot be changed. You are, however, given the option to choose the language for the rest of the game during the installation process. This is the only way to set the language without illegally modifying the game, so be careful which language you pick when you're setting things up.
- Skill level:
Place the game disk into your disk drive and begin the installation process. If you already have the game installed on your hard drive, you will need to uninstall it completely.
Follow the prompts during installation, either auto-run or manual, until you see the "Choose Setup Language" option. You can choose English, French or Spanish from the installation DVD.
Select "French (Standard)" from the list of language options. Continue the installation process until it is finished and you are prompted to play the game. All menu options and commands will be in French. The Sims spoken language, however, will remain the standard "Simlish."
