How to Unlock a Panasonic 705P

Updated April 17, 2017

Panasonic SoftBank 705P is a 3G mobile phone the company first began selling in 2006. It offers a clear LCD screen and a two-megapixel camera, making it a popular choice for photography enthusiasts. To switch your 705P to a new carrier though, you may have to unlock it. This is a process that removes the phone's connection to a specific SIM card, allowing you to switch to a different phone number or network.

Open the 705P.

Dial the digits *#06#.

Hit the green "Call" button.

Write down the number that appears on your screen. You will need it for the unlocking process, since each Panasonic 705P needs a custom code to unlock.

Submit your number to a cell phone unlocking service, such as UnlockXpress, Mobile2Mobile or UnlockToTalk. These companies act as third party sales services for the cell carriers, who are legally obligated to provide individual unlock codes for cell phones but do not do so directly, so as not to encourage or publicise the practice.

Dial in the unlock code they provide from the main screen.

Hit the green "Call" button.

Hit "OK" to confirm the procedure. It may take several minutes.
