The Polycom Avaya 4690 IP conference phone is speakerphone that allows you to make hands-free conference calls. The 4690 IP features an LCD screen that displays menu options and helps you store contacts. Before you can make conference calls or use the 4690 IP's other options, you must properly install the phone in your home or workplace by properly situating the cords and power adaptor that come with the product.

Plug one end of the included Category 5 cord into the centre Ethernet port of the 4690 phone unit; insert the other end into the Ethernet port that is connected to the speaker unit.
Plug one end of another included Category 5 cord into the other Ethernet port of your phone; insert the other end into an Ethernet wall jack.
Insert the power cord into the back of your phone and then insert the other end into a wall outlet.
Press the "#" button to accept the ID code that appears on the LCD screen. Enter a password for the phone and then press the "#" button; the authentication process will occur and your phone will be installed.
Test your phone connection by dialling a phone number. Press the "Speaker" key on the phone to utilise the speaker unit during your phone call.
