The HP Color LaserJet 2550 Series printers use the imaging drum chip to count the number of the printed pages. The imaging drum chip must be reprogrammed after you replace the imaging drum of the printer. The EEPROM built-in flash program resets rotation counter, format number and paper type settings to the factory default values. The printer driver automatically updates the page counter in the HP Color LaserJet 2550 configuration file after the reprogramming is performed.
