Your Internet service provider provides you with a dynamic or static Internet Protocol (IP) serial number each time you use the Internet. An IP serial number can be used to track the location or country of an Internet user. If you value your anonymity while surfing certain websites, you can hide the IP serial number by using proxy servers. Websites that track IP numbers will only see the IP number of the proxy server, which will fortunately leave your actual IP serial number hidden.
