Jacuzzi is a brand name for a variety of products, including hot tubs and bathtubs. If you have a jacuzzi bath in your home, it probably features jets inside the tub to create a whirlpool effect. While you need to clean the interior of your jacuzzi bath, just like a standard bathtub, you also need to purge the jets occasionally to prevent mould or mildew from forming inside them. The jacuzzi company recommends purging the jets on your bathtub at least twice a month to keep them clean.

    Clean the Bathtub

  1. 1

Open the drain on your jacuzzi bath to remove all of the water before you begin cleaning.

  2. 2

Dampen a sponge or rag with white vinegar, and wipe down the inside of the tub to remove any soap scum or dirt in the tub.

  3. 3

Sprinkle approximately 1/4 cup of baking soda onto the bathtub if it is still dirty.

  4. 4

Scrub the baking soda in a circular motion with a sponge dampened in clean water. Apply more baking soda as necessary, and continue to scrub until the tub is clean.

  5. 5

Rinse away the baking soda with clean water to finish cleaning your jacuzzi bath.

    Purge the Jets

  1. 1

Fill the bathtub with hot water until the water reaches at least 2 inches above the jets.

  2. 2

Add 1/4 cup of powdered dish washing detergent to the tub. Dish washing detergent does not foam as much as soap or washing powder, so it will not create a large mound of bubbles in your jacuzzi bathtub, which could overflow onto your bathroom floor.

  3. 3

Add 1/2 cup of liquid chlorine bleach to the water in the jacuzzi bath.

  4. 4

Adjust the air induction to the lowest setting. Locate the "+" and "-" buttons on the control panel and press the "-" button repeatedly to lower the setting.

  5. 5

Turn on the jets and allow them to run for 10 to 15 minutes.

  6. 6

Drain the jacuzzi bath and refill it with cool water.

  7. 7

Turn on the jets for an additional 10 to 15 minutes to rinse away the detergent and bleach, and then drain the tub.

Tips and warnings

  • Do not use an abrasive cleaner, such as scouring powder, to scrub your jacuzzi tub. Abrasive cleaners can leave scratches.
