How to connect a smart board to a macbook

Updated February 21, 2017

Smart Board is interactive software developed for business and education. It interacts with a white board, allowing you to move objects with the wave of a hand or write with an inkless pencil on the board. The whiteboard uses touch detection. Setting up Smart Board on the Mac takes a few extra steps than it would on a Windows computer and may require an adaptor.

Uninstall any previous versions of Smart Board software on your computer and install the program from install disks or online.

Go to the "Applications" folder and select "Smart Application Update." Double-click the icon and then click the "Update" button.

Open the software and go to "Preferences." Select "Allow Exposé, Dashboard and others to use screen."

Hook up the Macbook to the Smart Board whiteboard by inserting the mini-dvi to VGA adaptor. The system is now ready.
