Dried fruit snacks can be enjoyed any time. These snacks are tasty and sweet. Unfortunately, most dried fruit snacks contain chemicals and artificial flavours and don't have a long shelf life. You can choose to use only wholesome fruit and you will know that the dried fruit snacks you make will contain no artificial ingredients or colourings, unlike store-bought dried fruit snacks. Making your own dried fruit snacks will also ensure that they don't spoil quickly.

  1. 1

Wash and slice your favourite fruits and place them in a food dehydrator/dryer. You can purchase food dryers at any department store or large chain drugstore. Follow the directions in the instruction manual when using the device.

  2. 2

Transfer the dried fruits into a vacuum freezer bag. Purchase freezer bags with a special air pump you can use to remove air and seal the bags.

  3. 3

Place the freezer bags in a freezer container that is moisture-proof.

  4. 4

Place the container inside your freezer. Make sure the freezer temperature is no higher than -17.8 degrees Celsius for long-term storage and to prevent freezer-burn and microorganisms from growing. Your delicious freeze-dried fruit will last for one year.
