Chankast is a community-developed application that allows you to play Dreamcast titles using your own game discs on the computer. It also supports free applications designed by independent developers. Prior to using any title, the Utopia disc must be registered within Chankast. This allows the application to properly recognise your game disc and successfully load them.

Skill level:

  1. 1

Download the Utopia Boot Disk image from the Internet. Launch the compressed file with WinZip, WinRAR or your favourite file compression program.

  2. 2

Decompress the image file using the program's main "Extract" option from its main interface. Select a destination target within your computer. Allow approximately one minute for the procedure to finish.

  3. 3

Burn the Utopia Boot Disk to a blank CD. Programs such as ImgBurn and Padus Disc Juggler provide native support for the image type in question. Use the application's "Load" or "Open" option. Browse for the Utopia image file stored on your computer. Allow the procedure approximately five minutes to finish.

  4. 4

Launch the Chankast application while the copied Utopia Boot Disk is inserted on your computer.

  5. 5

Press the "Run" menu from the program's main interface, followed by "Start." Once the program asks to "Insert Game Disc," remove the Utopia Boot Disk from your computer.

  6. 6

Insert the game you wish to play and allow Chankast to automatically recognise it. Press any button or keyboard key to initialise the game.
