Lace Sensor guitar pickups come in two basic configurations. The first is the single coil. This pickup consists of one coil of wound copper wire and a magnet. The second is the humbucker. The lace Sensor humbucker guitar pickup consists of two coils of wound copper wire. The wires run in opposite directions which cancels 60-cycle hum. These are great pickups to wire into a guitar due to their low noise and quality craftsmanship.

Instructions

Lace Sensor Single Coil Pickup Wiring

  1. 1

Mount the Lace Sensor single coil pickup into the pick guard or pickup mounting bracket. You will locate a hole on each side of the pickup designed to fit a machine screw. Place the pickup into the pick guard, thread the machine screw through the face of the pick guard and then secure the pickup to the pick guard.

  2. 2

Feed the wires from the pickup through the wiring channel in the guitar and then secure the pick guard to the face of the guitar. The wires will feed into the control cavity.

  3. 3

Locate the green and white wires coming from the Lace Sensor guitar pickup, trim approximately 1/8-inch insulation from both wires with a wire stripper and then solder the wires to the back of the volume potentiometer control inside the control cavity.

  4. 4

Strip approximately 1/8-inch insulation off the orange wire with a wire stripper and then solder that wire to the wire lug on the selector switch. If you do not plan on using a selector switch, solder the orange wire to the far left lug on the volume potentiometer control.

    Lace Sensor Humbucker Pickup Wiring

  1. 1

Mount the Lace Sensor humbucker pickup into the pick guard or pickup mounting bracket. You will locate a hole on each side of the pickup designed to fit a machine screw. Place the pickup into the pick guard, thread the machine screw through the face of the pick guard and then secure the pickup to the pick guard.

  2. 2

Cut approximately 1/8-inch insulation off the orange/black wire and the white wire coming from the Lace Sensor humbucker with a wire stripper and then solder the ends of the wires together. After soldering the wires together, tape over the solder joint with electrical tape.

  3. 3

Trim approximately 1/8-inch insulation from the orange wire with a wire stripper and solder the wire to the left lug on the selector switch. If you do not plan to use a selector switch, solder the orange wire to the left wire lug on the volume potentiometer.
