Few costumes appear as sinister as Emperor Palpatine. In the celebrated Star Wars franchise, Emperor Palpatine used villainous treachery to destroy the Jedi Knights and usher in an authoritarian regime known as the Galactic Alliance. Otherwise known as Darth Sidious, Emperor Palpatine turned Anakin Skywalker to the dark side of the force, transforming him into the infamous Darth Vader. Throughout the series, sinister black robes, a pale face and raspy voice characterised the villain. Star Wars fans looking to dress the part of the evil sith lord will make great use of this costume.

  1. 1

Put in the contacts, following the directions on the product label.

  2. 2

Evenly apply white make-up to your entire face, including the lips.

  3. 3

Apply black eyeliner to facial creases. Emphasise the corners of your mouth and the crease between your brows to look like the old, disfigured villain. Blend the lines with a finger so they appear more seamless if necessary.

  4. 4

Apply the copper eyeshadow or lipstick under your eyes. Apply more black eyeliner around the orbital bone. Blend the eyeliner so your eyes appear hooded and sinister.

  5. 5

Put on dark clothes and the hooded robe. Wear the hood so it covers most of your face.
