How to find your own phone number on a landline

Updated February 21, 2017

A landline phone is a traditional, fixed-line telephone where voice travels over metal wire or optical fibre. If you have a landline telephone and you forgot your phone number, you have several options. You can call your landline telephone service provider, check your monthly phone billing statement or call another phone that subscribes to a caller ID service from the land line.

Call the customer service number for your landline telephone service. Listen to the touch-tone prompts and select the option to speak with a customer service representative. Ask the customer service representative for your phone number. The customer service representative will verify your identity and give you your phone number.

Check the monthly billing statement for your landline phone. You can normally find your phone number listed at the top of the bill.

Call another landline or mobile phone that subscribes to a caller ID service. Check the caller ID display or have another person check the caller ID display. The number displayed is the phone number for the land line you called from.
