Hiren's Wintools is a software application that links many different Windows tools into a single, easily accessed GUI application. Many Windows diagnostic utilities and features use command-line resources or are not available from the Start menu, such as the "msconfig," "dxdiag" and "ipconfig" applications. Add additional tools, both command-line and GUI based, through the "Add" menu inside of the Hiren's Wintools application.

Instructions

  1. 1

Click "Start" > "All programs" > "Hiren's Wintools."

  2. 2

    Click "New" > "Resource."

  3. 3

Select the type of resource ("Network," "Configuration" or "Administration"), then click "Browse."

  4. 4

Locate the tool on your hard drive. Default Windows tools are usually in "C:\Windows\System32," while custom applications will be installed in the folder in which you placed them.

  5. 5

Check "Command Prompt Persistent" if this command is opened in a command prompt, as this will cause the prompt to not close after the code has been executed.

  6. 6

Enter any parameters in the "Parameters" box, such as "/all" for "ipconfig."
