The Sonicwall TZ 150 is a network firewall designed for small offices or residential use. A firewall is part of the computer's network that is designed to block unauthorised access while allowing the desired information in. It does this by closely inspecting each packet of information that passes through it and allowing or stopping the data based on user-set preferences. Occasionally the firewall will need to be restored to its factory default setting because the user has forgotten his password or to fix the system.

Bend one end of a paper clip outward, making a narrow pointing device. Insert one end into the reset button hole on the back of the TZ 150 and press the button for five to 10 seconds. The test light will start blinking once the device has rebooted in Safe Mode.
Connect to the management interface for the device using a Web browser on a computer attached to the network. Type 192.168.168.168 into the browser's address field and hit "Enter." You are now in the Sonicwall Safe Mode menu.
Click the boot icon (pointing hand) beside the title "Current Firmware with Factory Default Settings." You have now restored the Sonicwall TZ 150 to its original factory settings.
