Turbo boost, or turbo mode, overclocks the central processing unit (CPU) to increase system performance. Users of the Asus N10J can download the Power4 Gear Hybrid Utility from the ASUS website. After configuring the power settings in Windows Vista, users can set up turbo mode in the Power4 Gear Hybrid Utility console.

    Go to the ASUS website (see the Resources). Point to "Services" and click "Support." Point to "Downloads." Click "ASUS Downloads."

    Select "Notebook" as the product. Choose "N10" as the series. Choose "N10J" as the model. Select your operating system from the drop-down menu. Click "Search."

    Expand "Utilities." Scroll to "Power4 Gear Hybrid." Click "Global" and download the file to your computer.

    Double-click "setup.exe" to install the driver to your computer. Restart your system following install.

    Connect the AC adaptor to the power jack on the side of the ASUS N10J. Connect the other end of the adaptor to an outlet.
