The Humax 5100 is a television set-top box for use with satellite cable service. It can be used to browse television listings, set reminders, automate content recording and set up parental filters. The Human 5100 is Internet-capable and features an upgradeable firmware operating system. Updates can be downloaded directly to the device or moved onto it using a USB flash card. It is important to keep your device as updated as possible to ensure proper functioning. Updating your Humax 5100 firmware should take no more than 15 minutes to complete.

Navigate to the Humax-Zone Firmware Directory page. (See Resources)
Download the latest firmware release for your Humax 5100 model. If you are uncertain which firmware file to download, select "HCI10502+ToH12" for the highest level of compatibility with different service providers.
Insert a USB flash drive into your computer's USB port.
Drag-and-drop the downloaded firmware file onto the USB flash drive.
Insert the USB flash drive into the USB port on the rear of the Humax 5100.
Power on your television and Humax 5100 device.
Press "Menu" on your Humax 5100 remote, then use the arrow keys to select "STB Upgrade."
Highlight "Start" on the STB Upgrade menu, then press "OK." You see two options, "Search" and "Run." Select "Run," then press "OK."
Use the on-screen keyboard to enter "humax5100/upgrade/firmware.exe" and press "OK." Your Humax 5100 system automatically detects the firmware upgrade files on the USB drive. Click "OK" when you are asked whether you wish to begin the installation process. The system automatically reboots when the upgrade is complete.
Tips and warnings
