How to keep a foam mattress pad from sliding

Updated February 21, 2017

A memory foam mattress pad is a good way to add some comfort and support to your mattress. However, if it slides around on top of your mattress, it does disturb your sleep and you may feel as though you are on the verge of sliding out of bed all night. Secure your foam mattress pad from sliding around on top a slick mattress for a better night's sleep.

Strip the bed of the sheets and blankets until you are down to the bare mattress.

Cut non-adhesive shelf liner into at least five squares, about the size of a sheet of paper.

Place one shelf liner square in each corner of the mattress and space the others through the centre.

Lay the foam mattress pad on top of the shelf liner.

Safety pin the edges of the foam mattress pad to the edge of the mattress for an extra degree of security. Use several safety pins for each edge to prevent tearing.

Make the bed as you normally would.

Things You'll Need
