How to Waterproof Goretex
GORE-TEX is a waterproof fabric used to keep people dry in a variety of situations. (after rain image by Michael Bronza from Fotolia.com)

GORE-TEX is a fabric created by laminating a GORE-TEX membrane to high-quality textiles. It was introduced in 1978 and has been used to create everything from waterproof outerwear to footwear. Long exposure to the elements, multiple washings and regular wear and tear will cause GORE-TEX to lose its water repelling ability over time. Using a reproofing spray can restore your GORE-TEX to its original waterproofing capability.
