As part of your Avaya IP phone system, you may have what is called the IP Office Delta server and SMDR. The Delta server is a service that runs on a Windows-based computer and that talks to your Avaya PBX in order to pull together call statistics. These statistics can then be used by other third-party applications to create call logs, real-time call statistics and other statistical call reports that help you with your call centre set-up and processes. To get the best results, it is important to upgrade regularly.

Skill level:

Things you need

  • Existing Avaya PBX
  • Existing Avaya Delta server
  • Latest version of Delta server software (see Resources)

  1. 1

Shut down all of the Compact Contact Center (CCC) applications on the Delta server Windows machine. If you are unsure what specific applications these are, the easiest method is to open a Task Manager window (press "Ctrl"+"Alt"+"Delete" and select "Task Manager"), and select the "Applications" tab. Here you will see a list of applications running on the machine, each named accordingly.

  2. 2

Open a Web browser, and navigate to the Avaya support website (see Resources). Download the latest maintenance pack for the Delta server. The download will be a .zip file that you need to save to the computer that has the Delta server installed on it.

  3. 3

Open the .zip file that you downloaded, and make sure you have the files DeltaServer.exe and ServerU.dll. Open the folder C:\Program Files\Avaya\IP Office\CCC\DeltaServer. This is assuming you installed the CCC package in the default location. However, this could be different depending on your initial install. Check the install information if you are unable to locate the file.

  4. 4

Rename the files DeltaServer.exe and ServerU.dll. Just add the appendix _old to the file names in case you have any issues after the upgrade, so you can easily locate and replace them.

  5. 5

Copy the two new versions of the DeltaServer.exe and ServerU.dll files from the .zip file you downloaded into this folder. Then close the folder, and restart the CCC applications and the Delta server application from the "Start" menu. From the "DeltaServer Help" menu, select "About" and confirm that the version number matches the latest version you just installed.
