How to Make Monster Energy Drink Halloween Costumes
A Monster energy drink can is a simple and fun costume. (drink image by andrew chambers from

Monster energy drinks have become an extremely popular way to keep alert and active when you are feeling sluggish. The familiar beverage can also make a fun Halloween costume. You will make your costume out of soft sheet foam, found at hobby and craft stores or upholstery suppliers. After making the bulk of the costume, all you need to do is seal the foam and paint it. The costume is soft, easy to wear and fun.

  1. 1

Measure the distance between your shoulders. Add 2 inches to that measurement for comfort. Measure the distance from your shoulders to your knees.

  2. 2

Cut a rectangular piece of soft sheet foam. Use your measurements to guide your cuts. The idea is for the sheet foam to be as long as the distance between your shoulders and knees, and as wide as a cylinder with the diameter of your shoulder measurement.

  3. 3

Brush a small amount of foam glue to the vertical edge of the foam and glue the cylinder together. Hold the pieces in place with duct tape until the glue dries.

  4. 4

Cut a circle of foam the same size as the top of the cylinder, then cut a hole in the middle of the circle large enough for your head to fit through.

  5. 5

Place the foam circle on stiff cardboard and trace the inner and outer circles and cut out both circles. Make cuts so the inner circle is a little wider than the foam and the outer circle is about 1 inch narrower than the foam.

  6. 6

Glue the cardboard into the inside of the top circle to help the foam hold its shape. The holes for your head should line up.

  7. 7

Glue the circle to the top of the cylinder, cardboard side down. Hold the circle in place with duct tape until the glue dries.

  8. 8

Cut holes in the sides of the cylinder for your arms. They should be at shoulder height when you are wearing the cylinder with your head through the top.

  9. 9

Brush a layer of fabric glue onto the entire outer surface of the costume and allow it to dry. This will seal the foam and allow you to apply a smooth coat of paint.

  10. 10

Draw the details of a Monster drink can onto the costume in marker.

  11. 11

Paint the costume with thin coats of acrylic paint. Use metallic paint for the can's top and whatever colours you want for the can's side artwork.
