How to Build a Vibrating Table Used for Cast Stone

Vibrations create a strong set of cast stones that can be used in landscaping applications. A homemade vibrating table is affordable, and it will give results just as good as a commercial table.

Things you need

  • Vibrating unit
  • Melamine board
  • Pencil
  • Drill set
  • Small bolts
  • Washers
  • Locking nuts
  • 4 1-by-2-inch boards
  • Styrofoam sheets
  • Heavy duty stapler
  • Tape

    Place the vibrating unit in the centre of your melamine sheet. Mark the screw holes with a pencil and remove the vibrator from the board. Drill small holes at each of the pencil marks.

    Place the vibrator back in place making sure the unit is aligned with the drill holes. Place a washer on each of your four bolts and put them through the drilled holes. Put another washer on the other side of the bolt and lock the bolts in place using a locking nut. Tighten the nut as much as you can without marking the board.

    Glue 1-by-2-inch boards to the edges of the melamine to prevent vibrating concrete from sliding off the table. Screw the boards to the table after letting the glue set for an hour.

    Tape the cord to the vibrator to the table to keep it from moving around during operation. Put the board on a flat surface and turn the vibrator on to operate.
