Resident Evil 4 was released on PC, GameCube and PlayStation 2. The GameCube version had the best graphics available, not to mention the best gameplay. The PC version left much to be desired, including controlling your character. Even the instruction manual isn't very helpful when it comes to getting around in the game. Purchase or otherwise acquire a PC gamepad.
Plug the gamepad into the computer USB port. Insert the CD that accompanied the gamepad into the computer's CD or DVD drive and install the software. This will configure the gamepad for use on the computer.
Look in your user manual that came with the gamepad. Each button is assigned a number. Correspond the action number to the gamepad buttons.
Start up Resident Evil 4. Learn which numbered button is assigned to each action under "Options."
Play the game to get used to the buttons. Having the basics down first will help a lot, but getting into the action will help even more.
