The remote designed for use with the PlayStation 3 (PS3) is not similar to remotes used for DVD players and television sets. The PS3 remote uses Bluetooth to connect to the PS3 and control functions, requiring you to set up the remote the first time you use it. The procedure requires a PS3 game controller to access a special menu.
