How to Make Smurf Shoes

Make yourself a pair of Smurf shoes to complete your Smurf costume. The Smurfs was a 1980s cartoon that featured little blue people who wore mostly white, including big white shoes with round toes. Save money and buy a few inexpensive items to use to make the Smurf-like shoe covers, instead of buying ready-made Smurf shoes. Use your savings to splurge on a large amount of blue body paint.

  1. 1

Cut a 6- to 7-inch diameter white foam ball in half with a sharp knife. Brush away the loose pieces of foam on the flat sides where you made the cut.

  2. 2

Apply a nickel-sized amount of epoxy adhesive to the middle of the flat part of one of the foam ball halves. Press the glue onto the top of an old pair of high-top sneakers (preferably white). Make sure the front side of the ball half lines up with the toe of the shoe. Repeat with the other shoe and ball half and wait 24 hours for the epoxy adhesive to harden.

  3. 3

Put on the shoes with the white foam ball halves glued to them when you are ready to wear your Smurf costume. Stretch out a pair of large, plain white socks and carefully put them on over the shoes so they appear to be one solid white pair of shoes with a bump on the tops of the toes. Tuck the tops of the socks neatly into the tops of the sneakers.
