While the Nintendo Wii is lauded for its user-friendly design and gameplay, it can be expected that at some point in the life of your Wii you will run into a technical issue or two. One such issue is a Wii disc that will not eject. There are several steps you can take to attempt to eject a stuck disc before you resort to sending your console in for repair.
Return to the Wii Menu if your game is not frozen.
Press and hold the eject button on the Wii console for five seconds. If the disc still does not eject, proceed to the next step.
Unplug the power chord from the Wii console. Wait one to two minutes and then plug the power chord back in and repeat steps one and two. If the disc still does not eject, proceed to the next step.
Remove the Wii console from its stand and tilt the front of the Wii downward to allow gravity to aid in the ejection of the disc, then repeat steps one and two. If the disc still does not eject, proceed to the next step
Visit Nintendo online technical support to schedule a repair of your Wii console. A link is provided in the Resources section.
Do not attempt to stick anything into the Wii disc slot, as this may damage the console and the disc and may cause electric shock.
