On Xbox Live, you can play games against peers, watch movies through your Netflix account, download new and classic games on the Arcade service, play game demos and more. Many of the titles released for the Xbox 360 include a free two-day trial of the Xbox Live service inside the packaging. Follow the instructions to set up your account and you will have access to Microsoft's online service for 48 hours.

Connect your console to the Internet. You can use a wireless adaptor, which must be purchased separately, or you can connect an Ethernet cable between your Xbox 360 and your router. A broadband connection is required.
Choose "My Xbox" from the Xbox 360 Dashboard. Go to "Sign-In" and "Create Profile."
Create a new account by following the instructions that appear on the screen.
Go to "My Box" again and select your profile. Move over to "Account Management." From this menu select "Manage Account."
Pick the option that allows you to "Redeem Code." Tear off the strip of paper on the back of the Xbox Live pass you got with the game to reveal the membership code. Enter this in the box on the screen to activate your trial.
