School uniforms can be plain, boring and conservative, but you can accessorise yours to create your own signature look. Check your school's dress code to see what is required of your daily uniform and what you can play around with and change up. A girl can use hair accessories, jewellery, scarves and pins, and a boy also can use style elements to add personality to a drab school uniform.

Be creative about how you style your hair. If you're a girl, curl it some days and straighten it on others. Braid it. Wear it in a low ponytail one day and in a high ponytail the next. Use colourful hair clips and accessories such as sparkly headbands and barrettes.
If you're a guy, try out different hair products or part your hair different ways. Brush it back and style it with gel, or part it on the side and rub some pomade in it.
Pin some sparkly brooches onto your uniform, your backpack or a fabric headband. If you're a guy, get some pins that feature your favourite bands, artists or characters and put them all over your jacket or backpack.
Wear bold jewellery, such as long, multi-strand necklaces, cocktail rings, beaded bracelets or bangles, or dangling earrings. If you're a guy, wear an armband featuring your favourite band, or put on a chain necklace.
Wear brightly printed scarves, and try out different ways of tying the scarf. If wearing it around your neck isn't your thing, try tying it onto your bag or using it to make a head wrap.
Try out colourful socks and shoes. Match your socks to your other accessories, such as your backpack, headband or jewellery. If your uniform doesn't include specific shoes, wear inexpensive flats in various colours, designs and materials, or if you're a guy, wear a cool style of shoes or sneakers.
Wear a shirt of a contrasting shade that's long enough to peek out from under a boring shirt for added texture and colour.
Wear shimmery or sparkly nail polish, if you're a girl.
If your school requires you to wear a student ID around your neck, purchase or make a stylish lanyard to wear it on. You could do this by weaving, twisting or braiding ribbon or shoestrings and attaching your ID holder.
Try different styles of make-up as long as your school allows you to wear it. If you're a girl, match your eyeshadow shade to your other accessories.
