A long flowing hairstyle --- either straight or with romantic curls --- can add elegance and beauty to your bridal attire. A veil can easily be added to this ensemble through a few simple steps. Whether you choose a traditional, long veil or a simple, short one, your style will shine through. Wearing your hair down around your shoulders can still look as formal as the common bridal updo. Your tresses and veil will cascade down your back for a lovely image as you walk down the aisle.

Instructions

  1. 1

Iron the veil using a temperature setting suitable to the fabric. Lay down the top of the veil and ensure this part is especially flat. Be mindful of any embellishments that are attached to the veil, such as beadwork, sequins or lace, as they may not take the heat well, iron around these elements.

  2. 2

Squeeze out a fine line of hot glue onto the inside of the tiara's headband and quickly press the top edge of the veil onto the glue line. Hold it in place, ensuring there are no obvious wrinkles in the veil. If the edge is longer than the tiara's headband, fold the edges neatly and glue these down as well.

  3. 3

Wait for the hot glue to cool on the tiara. Comb your hair into the style you have decided upon for your wedding day. Curl or straighten accordingly. Place your tiara with the veil attached onto your hair carefully. Ask for assistance if necessary. Arrange the tiara and veil to your liking.

  1. 1

Comb your hair down into the style you have decided on for your wedding day. Straighten or curl your tresses accordingly.

  2. 2

Create two flat pin curls on the back of your head at a position where you would like your veil to begin. Take two small amounts of hair next to one another and hold in place with a clip. Take one and twist it as tightly as possible into a spiral and pin it in place with at least two hair clips. It will loosen over time and must be pinned tightly to begin with. Repeat the same step for the next piece of hair.

  3. 3

Gently push the veil comb in behind the two pin curls and arrange the veil according to your preferences. Most veils are sold on a comb for ease of use. If yours is not, or if you are making your own, attach the veil to a comb with a fine line of hot glue. Wait for it to cool and place it on your head. Your hair will still flow freely below the veil and the pin curls will be barely noticeable.

Tips and warnings

  • If your hair will hold a curl with long lasting effects, consider curling your hair, as the friction will help the veil stay in place.
  • Exercise caution when using the hot glue, as it may cause burns.
