"Where's Waldo?" is a cartoon created by Martin Handford in which the main character, Waldo, hides among a large and humorous landscape. It is the reader's job to find Waldo. Handford's books became very popular with children all over the world. Dressing up as Waldo is a quick and easy costume idea that would be appropriate for any party.

  1. 1

Create a Waldo shirt. Waldo is best known by his red and white long-sleeved shirt. If you cannot find a red and white shirt at the store, you can make your own. Take a white long-sleeved shirt and paint horizontal stripes with red fabric paint. Let dry.

  2. 2

Find appropriate trousers and shoes. Waldo is always wearing blue jeans and brown shoes.

  3. 3

Replicate Waldo's stocking cap. In each scene, Waldo wears a white hat that has a red stripe and a red top. Use the red fabric paint on a white cap if you cannot find a hat similar to Waldo's in your closet or local stores.

  4. 4

Add accessories. Waldo wears black glasses. You can buy fake glasses at a gag or costume shop if you do not have your own. He is sometimes also seen with a brown messenger bag. If you own one add it to your costume to complete the look.

Tips and warnings

  • If you own a pet, dress him or her up as Woof, Waldo's dog.
