How to Tune a Haier TV

The Haier L42K30B LCD TV is designed to work with an external antenna for receiving free television broadcasts. You can tune the frequency response of the TV tuner in the way it displays the TV channels. You will first need to adjust the TV tuner so it can receive the TV channels being broadcasted.

Instructions

  1. 1

    Connect the coax connector at the end of the cable attached to the external antenna onto the coax input on the back of the Haier LCD TV. Turn on the Haier TV with its remote.

    Press the "Source" key on the remote. Press the "Up" or "Down" arrow on the remote to select "TV" from the list of choices presented on the screen. Press the "OK" button on the remote.

    Press the "Menu" button on the remote. Press the "CH-" arrow to move the cursor along the top of the screen. Stop moving the cursor when the icon of the satellite dish is highlighted. Press the "OK" button on the remote.

    Press the "Down" arrow on the remote to move the cursor down the new screen. Stop moving the cursor when "Auto Scan" is highlighted. Press the "OK" button.

    Press the "Right" arrow on the remote to begin the scan. Press the "Menu" button when the confirmation window appears to state that the scanning is done.

    Press the "Menu" button on the remote. Press the "CH-" arrow to move the cursor along the top of the screen. Stop moving the cursor when the icon of the satellite dish is highlighted. Press the "OK" button on the remote.

    Press the "Down" arrow on the remote to move the cursor down the new screen. Stop moving the cursor when "Fine Tuning" is highlighted. Press the "OK" button.

    Press the "CH+" and "CH-" arrows to shift from "Low Frequency" to "High Frequency" -- the text labelled with either name will appear on the screen when selected. Select "Low Frequency." Press the "Menu" button on the remote to exit the settings.

    Select a TV channel to watch on the Haier TV. Make a mental note of how the picture looks by focusing in on clothing, flesh tones and other details on the screen.

    Repeat the procedure to return to the "Fine Tuning" screen. Select "High Frequency" and press the "Menu" button to return to the TV broadcast you were just watching. Compare the details on the screen you are now seeing with what you saw before. Depending on which looks better, switch the setting back to "Low Frequency" or leave as is.

Tips and warnings

  • Fresh batteries in the remote will guarantee it will work effectively.
