How to Fix a Ford Mondeo Cigar Lighter

Updated March 23, 2017

To fix a Ford Mondeo cigar lighter, it's necessary to find a new lighter piece for the vehicle. This can be purchased at stores that specialise in auto parts or repairs. The cigar lighter provides a safer way to light a cigarette while on the road, because the driver doesn't need to bother with flicking a typical lighter. The car lighter automatically heats once pushed in, allowing you to smoke while keeping your eyes on the road.

Locate the lighter socket near the driver's side console.

Plug the replacement lighter into the socket to ensure it's a fit. If not, you'll need to replace it with the correct lighter model.

Push down on the lighter, allowing it to heat. After a few seconds it will eject itself, allowing you to use it to light a cigar or cigarette.

Remove the lighter and check the metal coils. If the coils are red then the new lighter heats properly.

Plug the lighter back into the socket and use as needed.
