- Large piece of poster board
- Coloured construction paper
Find a piece of heavy white poster board big enough to be seen from far away. Depending on where you'll be using the thermometer, that could mean anywhere from a few feet tall to billboard size.
Draw an outline of a thermometer on the poster board, with a bulb at the bottom and a narrow bar extending upward to a rounded top.
Draw evenly spaced lines across the bar to represent increments of money raised. The amount each increment represents will vary depending on your fundraising goal: for £650, you might want to use increments of £65; for £6,500, increments of £650.
Prop up the poster board on an easel or mount it on the wall wherever you are campaigning for funds. Make sure to put the thermometer somewhere that is easily visible.
Colour in the thermometer, typically in red, as you receive funding. You can use marker to fill in the increments, or you can glue strips of red construction paper to the poster board.
