To maintain cultural elements when serving guests a Chinese dinner, begin with a round table, which is the traditional dining table in China. Square plates and round bowls signify the earth and sky. Flowers and centrepieces are not a part of the Chinese table. Instead, an artful presentation of the food itself is used for decoration. Serve a simple menu of homemade or takeout Chinese food for an elegant taste of the Far East.
