How to learn basic electronics for free online

Although you can't get an electronics degree for free, you can take some basic electronics courses online and do some of your own research to try to learn as much about electronics for free online. Learning for free gives you a chance to expand your own knowledge, and also gives you a leg up if you ever decide to go and get a degree.

Read "Basic Electronics" (see Resources). This is an ebook that gives you information about electronic basics and what you need to know. You can read the ebook online, or you can download it to your computer. Read through the information to learn more about electronics. If there is a specific type of electronics you'd like to study more in depth, you can focus on that particular type and learn more about it by clicking on its heading in the table of contents.

Go to Electronics Theory and scroll through the list on the left hand side of various types of electronics theories. When you find one you'd like to learn more about, click on it and read the information. Each of the theories is explained using words as well as pictures and diagrams, so you can study the theory information as often as you wish until you have learnt all of the electronics theory you want.

Go to 101 Science and look at the list of electronics topics that are available. Click on a topic if you'd like to learn more about it. Scroll through the information about the topic until you have read it all. Then move on to another topic, or repeat your first topic if you don't think you have memorised it completely.
