Philips is a company with a large range of technological products available to consumers. LCD TVs are one such product. Philips LCD TVs come with many user-customisable settings, and features which can come in very handy if you want to customise the display. Due to the fact that most Philips LCD TVs are set in such a way that they will look good on display floors, most new buyers will need to change the settings to get the best picture at home. To fine-tune your Philips LCD TV settings, you need to access its onscreen menu.

Turn on your Philips LCD TV, and press the "Menu" button on the remote.
Press the "Up" and "Down" arrow buttons on the remote to select a settings category (Picture, Sound, Setup, Features, Language, or USB), and then press the "OK" button to open it onscreen. It is recommended that you open the "Picture" category first, as this is the section that usually needs fine-tuning.
Select the desired setting you want to fine-tune, and then follow the onscreen prompts to complete the modification. Lowering the default "Brightness" and "Contrast" values is recommended to increase picture quality, and experimenting with changes in the "Color," "Tint," and "Sharpness" settings can often (but not always) lead to a better picture over the default settings. When you're satisfied with the onscreen picture, press the "Menu" button to exit and save your changes.
