The "Halo" series follows a science fiction adventure that takes players between planets as they use a series of different weapons. The Halo Assault Rifle is the default weapon for players in "Halo 3." Players need not wait to purchase a replica when they can simply craft their own using common household objects. To create a more durable weapon, you may want to use heavier bond paper products such as card stock or cardboard.

Sketch out the template for the assault rifle, adjusting the size of it to your preferences. Use scissors to cut out your template when you are satisfied. Set the template upon a layer of cardboard or card stock, and use a pencil to trace the template. Cut these layers out using scissors or a box cutter.
Trace around the template onto a total of three or four layers of card stock or cardboard. Use scissors or a box cutter to cut out these layers. Apply glue to one side of the first layer, and align it with the second layer. Press the layers together. Apply glue to the rest of the layers and press them together. Allow the layers to dry.
Blend two cups of water, one tablespoon of salt, and two cups of flour together in a bowl. Tear newspaper or other paper such as paper towels into strips, and saturate it in the mixture. Grab one edge of the strip and lift it from the mixture, and use the other hand to gently run down the length of the strip to remove excess liquid.
Wrap the newspaper strips around the layers of your Halo assault rifle, pressing on the strips to ensure that they are firmly attached to your project. Cover the entire rifle and allow to dry overnight. Add another layer and allow to dry overnight, or at least seven to eight hours. Add a third layer and allow the assault rifle to dry again.
Apply paint to the assault rifle to create the look that you desire, and allow the project to fully dry.
Tips and warnings
- Avoid carrying or storing your Halo paper assault rifle in damp areas, as this could ruin your rifle.
