Instructions for Replacing a Battery on a Kindle

The Amazon Kindle is a portable device that lets you read e-books. These e-books, purchased from the Amazon store and delivered wirelessly to the Kindle, are read on a screen. Although the battery life of a Kindle is long, it does need replacing from time to time. You can purchase a new Kindle battery from Amazon and install it in a few minutes.

Turn the Kindle over.

Slide the back cover off the Kindle. Press it gently and slide it to the right.

Remove the Kindle battery from the battery compartment located on the bottom right. Pull the wire connector off to disconnect it.

Attach the wire connector to the new Kindle battery. Place the new battery back in the battery compartment.

Slide the back cover onto the Kindle.
