How to Open a Password-Protected BlackBerry Screen

If you have turned on your BlackBerry only to be greeted by a password prompt, there is a good reason--your BlackBerry is locked. This screen is in place to protect your information should you happen to lose your phone or have it stolen. You can open a password-protected BlackBerry screen by simply typing in the appropriate password once the device asks you for it.

    Press "Power" to turn on your BlackBerry (if it is off). If only the screen on your BlackBerry has turned off but the device itself is still on, press any key to illuminate the unit's LCD screen. You will be prompted to type in your BlackBerry password at the lock screen.

    Use the BlackBerry's keyboard (or virtual keyboard, depending on the unit) to type your current BlackBerry user password into the prompt.

    Press the "Enter" button on your BlackBerry to unlock your password-protected BlackBerry screen.
