Press *#06# and push the "Call" or "Send" button. A 15- to 17-digit number should appear in the message box. You must provide this number to obtain your unlock code. Each IMEI is unique to a cell phone, regardless of the service provider.
Obtain an unlock code by calling your cell phone service provider or purchasing one from a third-party source.
Take out your old SIM card and do the following:
Press the # button.
Press * three times.
Press * four times.
Press * twice.
Enter the 15-digit unlock code and complete the following:
Press * two times.
The message should show "SIM Restriction Off." Insert your new SIM card. If no messages appear and your phone is not bricked (see Tips), your device is now unlocked.
Tips and warnings
- Entering an invalid unlock code too many times will result in your phone being "bricked." Once this happens, you can not unlock your phone anymore.
