Use anime characters as avatars to represent yourself in virtual reality games, Web forums, websites and instant messaging clients. Various online avatar creators let you make chibi characters of your choice, which you can then use on any platform of your choice.

Use the Otaku Avatar Maker website to create a dummy avatar on the top left corner of the page with a number of tabs labelled as "Back," "Hairstyle," "Eyebrows," "Eyes" and "Mouth," and several accessorising options, such as "Hair Ornaments," "Glasses," "Makeup" and more. Click each tab and click the option of your choice to make your avatar look how you want it to. The website applies each item you choose from the library tabs to the dummy avatar.
