How to Format an HP iPaq RX1950

The iPAQ rx1950 is a Windows Mobile Pocket PC device manufactured by HP. The rx1950 features a 300MHz Samsung processor and 96 MB of total storage space. With a Pocket PC such as the iPAQ rx1950, formatting the device is also known as a "hard reset." In this process, all of the data on the device is permanently removed and the device is restored to its original factory configuration. If you have encountered a software problem on the iPAQ rx1950 that you are unable to resolve, or have purchased a used device and want to remove the previous owner's information, do so by performing a hard reset.

    Push the reset button on the side of the iPAQ rx1950 using the stylus. The reset button is the only button on the device that cannot be pushed with a finger. Continue holding the button down.

    Push and hold the "Calendar" and "Wireless" buttons. You should now be holding three buttons down. After several seconds, the screen on the iPAQ rx1950 turns to black.

    Let go of the three buttons.

    Push the reset button with the stylus a second time. The iPAQ rx1950 turns on again and boots into Windows Mobile. The device is completely formatted.
